Meet Our Instructors

 


Hank Johnson

Hank was born in Birmingham, Alabama.  He played collegiate golf at Auburn where he finished Runner-Up in the SEC Championship in 1962.  He played on the PGA Tour for two years and the remainder of his career has been in Golf Instruction.  Mr. Johnson is the Founder and Master Instructor of the Hank Johnson School of Golf.

Hank has been a Golf Magazine Top 100 Teacher, as well as a Top 50 Golf Digest Magazine Teacher.  He was named PGA National Teacher of the Year in 2004, and he is a Member of the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.  His many students have included players from the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour, in addition he currently teaches top collegiate, junior and amateur players. 

Scott Hassee

Scott has been an apprentice for the Hank Johnson School of Golf since May 2010, after graduating from Ohio Wesleyan University where he played Varsity Golf for three years. He began working as Instruction Administrator in May 2011.  

During that time he grew the school of golf’s long term athletic development junior program to have over 60 weekly participants, some of whom are now competing at high levels in their respective middle and high schools. Scott is currently a Level 2 PGA Apprentice, and is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Junior Coach 3 and Power Coach 2 certified.
