Nice to get, nicer if you can live up to them day after day after day …
We appreciate each and every compliment we’ve received here at Timberline Golf Club. They say we’re doing our job in providing the folks in and around Birmingham with a picturesque setting for golf and a positive experience.
But we will not rest on our laurels!
We go out every day with the goal of earning an “atta boy” from everyone who comes here – member, non-member, guest, event attendee, etc.
Once again, our sincere thanks for your kind words!
Timberline Golf Club is fun to play, well manicured and rolls gently up and down a beautiful site well shaded by tall pines and huge oaks and hardwoods that give the course its name.

Timberline Golf Club hasn’t forgotten what first brought you to the game of golf. Picturesque surroundings and the enjoyment of the game are just a couple of the considerations Jerry Pate took into consideration when designing this championship golf course.
Timberline is a challenging par 71 links-style layout that encompasses many of Pate’s trademark features of natural areas, multiple bunkers and enticing drivable par 4’s. Although the course is considered modern (opened in 2002) it has a sense of tradition with many large hardwood and pine trees located throughout the course.
The practice area at Timberline is one of the most comprehensive in the country, with two practice chipping greens, multiple practice bunkers, putting green and an expansive hitting area with well-defined target greens.
As a semi-private golf club with a wonderful membership and professional staff, Timberline is dedicated to providing a memorable experience for all who come to play.

Fun to play even if you are just a bogey golfer like me. Timberline has its share of challenging holes. With varying elevations and sometimes narrow fairways, it offers a couple of risk/reward opportunities. The greens were fast (mid-February), but once you realized that, they were consistent.

Played a day after heavy rain, cart paths only. Great course with Thomas The Train from railroad museum passing through. Great course. 4.5 stars.

Nice scenery. I love the changes in elevation. Fairways are well kept. The greens actually play better than they look. Great for newer players.

Timberline Golf Club is … a hilly, tree lined course, routed through a residential community. The course is challenging, a shot maker’s type of course requiring placement rather than length to score well. Some of the fairways are very tight with trees, sand and water in play. Greens are good sized, undulating and fast, and in all a very well conditioned course, not well suited for the higher handicapper.
